Week 1

What I did and mini review -

I created a proposal detailing my rationale, project concept and how I will evaluate my work. I also created a pitch on PowerPoint detailing a review of my progress, what has influenced me for this project and my resources/equipment needed.

 

How I overcame any issues or challenges –

I found it difficult to detail my ideas for my project as I had not figured it our fully yet. I also found it a bit challenging to do my pitch as I find it hard to speak in front of a camera.​

Week 2

What I did and mini review -

I created a research document on word discussing similar products, themes, target audiences, skills, and how I will present my product. I also researched different websites, added links, and Harvard referenced them.

 

How I overcame any issues or challenges –

I did not face many issues or challenges this week.

 

List of known issues or challenges for next week-

Sometimes I find Harvard referencing quite complicated, yet I know that I will improve on that skill throughout this project.

List of potential issues that could arise for next week-

It could be difficult to source all the information I would like to.

 

Week 3

What I did and mini review -

I continued working on my research document, adding more images and alphabetising the bibliography.

 

How I overcame any issues or challenges –

I often found it difficult to find websites discussing exactly what I wanted to research, so I instead pieced together information I sourced from multiple websites.

 

List of known issues or challenges for next week-

I know that creating a shot list will challenge me as I find it quite hard to plan shots since I find that I get the best results when I don’t plan.

 

List of potential issues that could arise for next week-

I could find it hard to produce a recce as I usually find better locations for shots during shooting.

 

Week 4

What I did and mini review -

I continued adding to my research and started working on my planning and pre-production documents. For this I plan to create an equipment list, shot list, and recce. 

 

How I overcame any issues or challenges –

​I found it challenging to research the target audience for my project as I was unsure of what to look for online.​

List of known issues or challenges for next week-

I know that I will find it hard to create a contingency plan as I am unsure of many issues that could arise when shooting.

​I might have trouble accessing locations I would ideally like to shoot at as I do not have a car.​

Week 5

What I did and mini review -

​This week I created my pre-production document including a mood board, budget, recce, equipment list, contingency plan etc. Earlier in the week I also went location scouting and took photos of areas I would like to take photos at.

 

How I overcame any issues or challenges –

​I found it difficult when location scouting to find areas that would work well for my photographs so I instead researched locations online and plan to travel there when shooting.

 

List of known issues or challenges for next week-

As I plan to travel more than an hour to a location to shoot I only have one chance to do it and I will find it hard to achieve the shots I want if the weather is not what I desire.

 

List of potential issues that could arise for next week-

I know that it could be challenging to photograph a child model as they often do not cooperate well when shooting for long period of time.

Week 6

What I did and mini review -

​I began my production and travelled to take some shots. I uploaded them to Lightroom and watched multiple YouTube videos I had researched previously to help decipher what techniques would be most useful in my editing to achieve the aesthetic I want.​

​

How I overcame any issues or challenges –

​When shooting I thought I would get much more shots so I planned to go to a different location and try shooting with a model.​

​

List of known issues or challenges for next week-

As I am not including any faces in my shots I know I will find it tricky to be creative with my composition.

​

List of potential issues that could arise for next week-

Achieving the correct weather for my photoshoot and trying not to capture the publics faces could be a difficult task.

​

Week 7

What I did and mini review -

​I travelled to another location to carry out the bulk of my production. I also continued adding to my research and tested some editing styles on my photographs I got. In addition, I have also started to plan the overall look and aesthetic of my website and I am in the process of creating my own header that will hopefully further portray the sense of nostalgia.​​

How I overcame any issues or challenges –

​​I found it quite tricky to take photos that didn't include faces whilst also still trying to capture a unique composition. I also could not figure out how to insert tables into Wix, I eventually got help and inserted them rather than screen grabs of a word document since I wanted my website to look cleaner.

​

List of known issues or challenges for next week-

​I know that I will find it challenging using a scanner to create my header as I have never used one before this.

​

List of potential issues that could arise for next week-

​I could find it hard to edit some of my photos and make them seem cohesive as they are all in different locations and have drastic differences in lighting.

​

Week 8

What I did and mini review -

​​​This week I took more photographs in varying locations and created my own header for my website from scratch. I also done a first edit from my previous photoshoot using some editing techniques that I had researched.

​

How I overcame any issues or challenges –

​​I was unsure how to use a scanner to help create my header, yet I watched a couple YouTube videos and figured it out.

​

List of known issues or challenges for next week-

​I know that I could find it difficult to use Photoshop to create my sticker as I do not have much experience with it. 

​

List of potential issues that could arise for next week-

​If I do not use Canva to create my logo then it could potentially be hard for me to navigate other apps/websites.

​

Week 9

What I did and mini review -

Using Canva I created many logos exploring different compositions and fonts, after making 8 logos I settled on my final one that I felt was both legible and showed personality. Taking inspiration from my logo design, using Photoshop I created my own personal stickers to promote my photography. ​​​

​

How I overcame any issues or challenges –

​​When making my logos I found it difficult to find fonts that fitted what I had envisioned although, I am happy with the outcome.

​

List of known issues or challenges for next week-

​Next week I plan on creating a poster to promote my project, I aim to use Photoshop to create it yet I know it will be more difficult than if I were to use Canva as I have little knowledge on navigating Photoshop. If I find it too hard to use I will resort to using Canva even though it may not give me the results I am aiming for.

List of potential issues that could arise for next week-

​I could find  it difficult to create the photobook for my final product as I have not made one before.

 

Week 10

What I did and mini review -

​This week I done the final edit of my photos and added them to my gallery on the website. I also created the photobook for my final product to be presented in.​​​ I then created mock up posters to promote my project in Canva.  I also printed my final edited photos and compiled them into a photobook that I created.

​

How I overcame any issues or challenges –

I found it challenging to create ​​the actual photobook and also find the correct placement of images.

​

List of known issues or challenges for next week-

​I will find it a bit hard to do my evaluation as I find it difficult to talk about myself sometimes.

​

List of potential issues that could arise for next week-

I may find difficult to create the poster as I would like to include a QR code and I am unsure how to ​​create one but I will research how to.

​

Week 11

What I did and mini review -

​​​I created my final promotional poster in Photoshop, taking inspiration from my previous mock-ups in Canva. I also designed my website home page, wrote my evaluation and, finalised my website.

​

How I overcame any issues or challenges –

​​I did not have many issues except I found it a little hard to talk about myself and my photography.

​
